A year tomorrow marks the last time I saw Foster’s heart beat. He was 38w, breech and an estimated (almost) 10lbs. A recommended consult with an OB and C-section was noted in the ultrasound report. Hours later he turned easily in an ECV and we went off trying to encourage the little man to decide to be born ASAP. Spicy foods, walks, lunges, everything.
So soon it will be a year since he died and was born. How long/short a year can be. He has been dead longer than he existed, and this is how it will be for the rest of our lives. A memory, a stretchmark, a rough patch. You know – The Year Our First Baby Died.
